Second day in MMU

Hi

Well, it wasn't really my second day today. Me and the rest of the October intake students did have a 3 days "blazing" orientation weekend. It was all fun fun fun to me and I got to know many people here. It was really nice :-)

My first class started yesterday. As familiar as it sounds, the subject was Digital Logic. All those transistors, gates, multiplexers, adders which are still pinned in my mind. The lecturer was an Indian untie (not trying to be disrespect though) Mrs. Shirine or something that sounds similar, ha ha. She has her favorite phrase which is "this &^^% is nothing but ^%%^^". She kept repeating that and I found it quite amusing sometimes :-D Nevertheless, she tried so hard to assist us to understand what were there to understand and she did pretty well. I swear these guys are really lucky to be introduced into the subjects in such easy way.

I'm not telling you a lie - This is the only core subject for my course that I'm taking within this first trimester, which will be comfortably 2 months. I don't wanna make it sounds like I'm so damn free but I am really so damn free!

The other subject being Malaysian Studies. This subject is so interesting that MMU decided to create a 3 hours lecture session for us which I see remarkable appreciation from students by the mean of not showing up. Anyway, the lecture hall today was almost empty half way the session went.

I can opt to join the swimming class, which by the course structure I'm not supposed to. However, I need to find the coach to register manually which I have no idea how. The system, although looks well structured, is actually so damn messy.

Like this one girl I knew today said, I'm gonna fill up my time with a lot of activities. There are so many things I could do here and there are many things I have been wanting to do for so long. So, why not here? Why not now? I'm going into those things sooner or latter :-)

I'm still going back and forth to campus and home by the bike. I plan to move in into the room I am registered to a few days ago very soon. I need to find a study table, anyone got one?

Half an hour ride, fuh

Hi

I'll be riding bike for half an hour to campus. That would be hell a ride!

The last time I spent half an hour to work everyday was erm.... boring. But this is in city, no more fresh air and such. That really would be hell a ride!

Hee.

Nah, it'll be fun.

I pray to God that I'll be safe and sound everyday. I'm eagerly looking forward for my first class at MMU :-)

Meeting people expectations

Meeting people expectations more than your own.

How many times were you in that situation? Lets be honest.

Oh I hate myself for giving people too much power in coloring the choices I made. I consider myself a free thinker. However dislike I am towards their views, I still take them into considerations. Sometimes even more than mine myself. We never knew maybe they are right after all. I understand well that no matter how far you have gone with any research you can think of, any possibilities you can figure out, your final choice isn't necessarily going to be the best one.

Lets face it. Rather than going for the best choice, we all tend to go for the easiest one instead. I'm so hoping I'm not into that.

I rather put a lot of thoughts on things and make decisions. When things goes wrong, I'd learn from it without or with little regrets. That is better!

What do you think?

Yeay! This afternoon I recieved an email from one of the MMU's admission office people that I contacted in the past few weeks. Here it goes :

Congratulations!

Ahhh, what a huge relief!

Grateful I am, this is not possible without my family. For them, with loves and thanks.

For God, for giving me chances after chances.

For myself, for not giving up for my life.

Night, bloggy.

Advent Drivers

The Advent 4211c is one of the only items (I'm not a much of stuff collector) I bought when I was in UK. It's probably the most satisfying stuff I bought there. Very light, I used to bring it to campus and during my travels. I'd recommend it to any student. It's decent in power or capabilities but it's adequate enough to do some campus-based works, lets say, presentations, codings, emails, and more. The fact that it is light which you can bring it anywhere in campus, even in the lecture hall just to record the lecture with the webcam is awesomely a good buy for me :-)

My Advent is fitted with the (once) popular netbook processor, N270 Atom, with the speed of 1.6GHz. There were rumours saying there will be Intel Dual Core Atom for netbooks, but haven't heard any OEMs producing one - they are made for nettops. Although good for running standard applications, sometimes it can be quite slow if you run multiples of them. Nevertheless, with the slim chassis weighs just about 1Kg, I'm cool with it. Not to mention, you can get the 9-cells battery from ebay and get it running for 7/8 hours! The best thing about this would be the very low power consumptions. Bring it to your campus without stuffing your backpack with its power adapter, no extra weight on your back!

Here are the site to get the drivers from :

There are many variants of the similar specifications of my netbook, but I'm sure they all mostly giving us the same capabilties. MSI Wind u100, to name one. Even the small netbook the Terengganu Government gave to the standard 5 students is one of the variants.

Updated : Based on this, I believe there will not be Intel Dual Core Atom for netbooks in the near future. A bit longer, perhaps.

Ireland Vs Italy

It was 7 minutes after the first whistle was blown. Freaking good goal! hehe He surely deceived most of the players on the field!

Anyway, my capital was almost finished today. Niessa's friends seem to be my regular reloaders in these few days, although most of them bought the minimum amount.

My quick review, the sales are okay, depending on how well you promote your services. But to deal with the the requests took lots of my time. It's a experience though.

As for the match, here are the goals :

Good Ghyem!

TopUp Business

I've just registered for a small prepaid reload business a few days ago for the sake of testing it. The agent who introduced the system to me is from Kemaman and he's a nice guy to start. I found the system is easy to use and I would definitely share it in coming time.

For the time being, I would monitor it and evaluate myself how beneficial this system can be. Here is a little info on the transactions so far. All buyers are my sis Niessa's friends. Good networking there for these little profits.

A little info on the system (as in on this date)

Registration fee : RM10
Free Initial Capital in the system : RM3 *
*So the real initial capital for the business is RM7

Anyone who are interested to know more, may email me at mrafsyam@gmail.com or leave a message at mrafsyam@yahoo.com on Yahoo Messenger. This is a great opportunity for you if you're a student who spends a lot in reloading your prepaid numbers and this is definitely not a scam.

Yes I was a little suspicious about the system too but since it didn't involve a lot of money, I thought "Hey, it won't hurt that bad!", so I did try it. It's nevertheless a real deal. If you're looking for these kinda of business experiences, I'd recommend it.

Ever heard of a basketball quote (I think) : You miss 100% the shots you didn't take.

New site

Hello World! (again, this our 3rd meeting I think)

Well this is so not a welcoming post, hehe. I'd like to jump straight to the point ;-)

I have less than a week to know if I am continuing my study at Multimedia University. I think I have prepared everything well. I have no reasons to get rejected, but you know, shit happens. If everything goes right and with God's willing, this is going to be a new kick start for me, a new make over and definitely a new chapter of my life. There is no other reason for the opening of this blog.

There are no news from Yayasan Terengganu yet. I hope those people there still have hopes on me. I hope they are still considering to offer me scholarship, or changeable scholarship at least, or the least, a study load. Nevertheless, I'm sure going to use this chance to prove where the limit of my capability lies.

I have just registered the domain name www.kemaman.org for this site. Once I got it activated, I'll point the domain name to this site. I will mainly use this site for :-
- small businesses
- personal writings
-educational writings
- working space
- photo gallery

Nevertheless, the list will change if I have some changes in priority. However, I want to keep writing, so I doubt if this blog going to be abandoned any soon :-)

I need to line up my To-Do-List for tomorrow.

- Finish UNITEN application for a Degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering)
- Fucking email UTP
- Clean up the stuff in the baggage
- Write up the planning if I'm offered a place in MMU, and if I'm not.
- Decorate this site
- Fucking call YT (I don't know if I should though, perhaps not yet?)

oh, and it's official, I'm leaving dribbler(dot)org behind. I'm paying the last fee in the next few days.

Raf's out.
